Speaker: Alex Rodriguez

Alex began his missionary career in 2009 by giving a year in Kazakhstan, where he helped a team plant college ministry on the campuses of Almaty. In 2010, he completed a Campus Missionary in Training program to become better equipped in ministry skills, professional development, and theology. In 2013, Alex and his wife, Abby, led a team to pioneer campus ministry in New Mexico.

Alex accepted the role of training director in 2018 and moved to Springfield, Missouri, to work in the National Chi Alpha Ministry Center. Within this role, he oversaw the internship programs, staff training conferences, data analysis, and training content.

On June 3, 2024, Alex became the senior director of Chi Alpha Campus Ministries, U.S.A. BREAKOUTS

9:30am -10:30am

  • Christianity is founded on a relational and personal God. Learn how you can come to know God in that manner and be able to hear from Him.

  • Everyone is looking for real or lasting joy, peace, and happiness. In a world full of boredom, learn how God has given us the secret to real happiness.

  • TV shows like “The Summer I Turned Pretty” always capture people’s attention, because everyone is interested in love and romance. But what if you mistake lust for love? Come learn what the Bible shows us about Godly love.

  • Forgiveness is not just about making peace with others; it’s about unlocking the forgiveness we desperately need FROM Him. Through honest conversations, Scripture, and personal reflection, we’ll take a hard look at the wounds we’ve been carrying—and how letting go can lead to true freedom.

  • The Bible shows us a picture of Christians who are Bold, but how do we get there? Come learn how to overcome the Fear of Man and live in the Fear of the Lord.

  • We need to have an appropriate level of AWARENESS because we have a real ADVERSARY but we find our victory through God-given AUTHORITY.

  • In this breakout, we will be discussing the Lordship of Christ, why he has the right to rule over our lives, and what it looks like to be fully surrendered to Him as our Lord. We will identify good things that can become hindrances to our faith, and outward expressions that reveal where our true allegiance lies.

10:45am -11:45am

  • Are you a small group leader? There are key principles to being effective in leading others and making disciples. Join Senior National Chi Alpha Director, Alex Rodriguez, as he unpacks these wins.

  • When Jesus challenged believers to make disciples of all nations, He meant it. We can accomplish this task, but to do so, people must answer the call. In this session, you will learn why this matters to God and what you can tangibly do about it.

  • The University is a fulcrum that can change the world. Learn more about the Campus Missionary in-Training program and hear stories from current CMITs. Who knows? Maybe God is calling you to reach the campus after graduation!

  • 97% of XA alumni do not graduate and serve in XA or go into world missions.  They find jobs in the marketplace, start their lives in our nation's cities, and get rooted in the local church.  The 97%, has the potential to not just leave a legacy on the campus, but to transform our nation for Jesus.  Come learn about God's heart for those headed for the marketplace and practical movements we are building to see our alumni continue expanding the Kingdom of God after college.

  • CALLING ALL INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS ‼️ this is YOUR breakout! We’re going to chat about being an international student in the U.S. and Chi Alpha. Prepare to walk away from this breakout encouraged and equipped on how you can make the most of your experience here in the US in college and beyond.

  • We will explore what the Bible says about abiding and spending time with God. We will study the word “abide” and how we can level up in our devotion to God as we walk with the Holy Spirit.

  • Discover how your faith and family experiences shape the way you communicate and connect. We’ll take a practical, faith-based look at boundaries, conflict and becoming a healthy, confident you in relationships.

  • Let's talk what prayer really is—and what it isn’t. Come hear about the transformative power of prayer that every believer has access to. Together, we’ll look at how Jesus taught us to pray, why prayer matters, and how we can approach God’s throne. Learn practical tools and build faith to see God's Will be done in your life and on your campus – on Earth as it is in heaven.
